- פְּחִיm. (פחה, cmp. פּוּחַ) blowing out, expiration; פ׳ נפש (cmp. מַפָּה) despair, disappointment. Sabb.127b הלך לביתו בפ׳ נ׳ went home in despair. R. Hash. II, 6 כדי שלא יצאו בפ׳ נ׳ that they (the witnesses) might not leave in disappointment (and be discouraged from coming again); a. fr.(Levy Talm. Dict, reads פַּחֵי, as constr. pl. of פַּח III.
